Excellent custard bun and friendly staff!
The best bakery in town. My favorite is almond croissant or chocolate almond croissant. I've been here quite a few times and it's always busy. Every time I want to give out-of-towner friends or family, I always buy them these goodies.
Was so excited to try this place after all the great reviews, but really disappointed. Had steamed pork bun: gelatinous cold filling, not a lot of pork meat. I scooped the filling out and ate the bun which was delicious. Black bean sesame ball: SO greasy! Must have been cooked in cold oil. Egg tart: filling was delicious and perfect texture, but again, crust was sooo greasy! I ate the filling and tossed most of the crust. I may go back to try other stuff, but these three are my favorite, and Ho Yuen really disppointed.
I have been going here since I was a kid and I absolutely love it. The people here are so kind, and the pastries here tastes a lot better than pastries in other Chinese bakeries in Chinatown. Of course there are many good bakeries in Chinatown but this one is my favorite. The products are consistent so you know what you're paying for every time you come here. My favorite pastries would be the beef and hotdog bun and the rice cakes. The black bean sesame buns and the egg tarts are also bomb as heck. Every time I come here I always struggle with what to get because I love everything here. This place will always be my go to place. 1000% would recommend coming here.
Service was excellent. She was very patient even though I was browsing at different options being indecisive. Quality and price was as expected. Thumbs up.
