Love going here as the restaurant is cosy. Idea if you are on your own as caters for all ages. The shop is welcoming with small gifts to washing machines. Parking is good too.
I had lunch at downtown today. They had a Christmas lunch...turkey, roast pots, Brussels, carrots, stuffing, bread sauce and gravy. The portions were good. However, the Brussels were hard, the bread sauce was dolloped onto the plate with an enormous serving spoon ( and it wasn't very nice.. extremely thick and overly sweet) and so much gravy you physically couldn't see what was underneath it . It resembled thick chocolate sauce!! Having said that the gravy did taste ok. Shame about the heavy handed server. It cost just under a tenner. It was ok..under average to be totally honest. Shame because with extra training, the servers could be made aware of how to serve something up nicely without throwing it on the plate. !! Our dinners looked pretty disgusting and 2 other tables actually commented on how it looked.
